10 Announcements We Desperately Want To Hear At E3
3. Nintendo Reveals New Metroid & Zelda Games
There's one major way that Nintendo could give their weakened Wii U a huge boost, and that's simply by announcing new, shiny versions of their classic franchises, namely Metroid and The Legend of Zelda. There is almost certainly a Metroid game in development for the Wii U, and to show it off at E3, hopefully with an inventive adoption of the Wii U's gamepad, could signal a turnaround of the console's fortune, especially if it's accompanied by the return of Link. It was way back at E3 2011 that a gorgeous tech demo was shown off for the Wii U, demonstrating Link taking on a gigantic spider boss. Unsurprisingly, the video went down a storm online, with many speculating when the game might actually be released. It's three years later, and Nintendo continue to remain cagey about the title, only confirming that it is in development, and that we'll hear more about it at E3 this year. Hopefully Nintendo will have a shedload of awesome footage ready to blow us away and convince us that Nintendo still had a dog in the current console war.
