6. Microsoft Announces Xbox One To Release Before PS4
Alongside Sony, it is widely expected that Microsoft will be announcing final release dates for the Xbox One around the world, but most importantly, in North America and Europe. Speculation has been running rampant for months as to which company will pre-empt the other, but given that Microsoft really has a lot to prove after the One's disastrous PR display in recent months, it would make sense for them to hit the ground running and get onto the market before the PS4. Sony, meanwhile, doesn't need to rush, given their well-earned confidence with the console's reception so far, and so it is enormously likely that the One will be announced for an early November release date - which would potentially bring in the Call of Duty crowd, who might otherwise buy it on current-gen tech out of desperation to have it on release - or even as early as the end of October.
