The so-called "noob tube" is a term going back to the earlier CoD games that refers to any explosive launcher that can give players an easy kill. Back in the days of the original Modern Warfare, Grenade Launchers and Rocket Launchers could cause obscene amounts of damage, often scoring 1-hit kills and even sometimes taking down multiple targets with ease. After a vocal portion of the fanbase complained, these weapons were nerfed somewhat for future games, though in the interest of realism, they still cause masses of damage, and the derisive title has lingered ever since (even being referenced directly in Modern Warfare 2 and 3). Though the weapons are perfectly acceptable within the rules of the game, they're a quick way to annoy the opposite team because of the implication that unskilled players tend to use them. Of course, when I'm the one in control of the grenade launcher attachment, I can't say a bad word about it, but the second it's turned around on me, I can't stop proclaiming the assailant to be a noob tubing lamer.
