10 Annoying Characters That Stopped Great Video Games Being Perfect

1. Your Ghost - Destiny

Aside from the fact that scores of gamers took such a large exception to Peter Dinklage's vocal performance for Destiny's Ghost and managing to enforce the actor's replacement post-release, there's still no way to stop the floaty little bugger appearing as the most annoying character on this list.

Obviously we know that our Guardians owe a great deal to the Ghost, as he's responsible for reviving the player and hurling them back into galactic conflict at the game's outset. But even with this in mind, the exposition-spouting little android quickly becomes as rage-inducing as stubbing your toe or biting the inside of your own mouth.

The vast majority of Ghost's dialogue throughout Destiny's main game and expansions has been needless and frustrating exposition, leaving players with little to no chance to actually enjoy what's happening before them. When a hulking beast starts to rise out of the depths of a Moon abyss, Ghost's emotionless explanation takes all of the awe and spectacle out of the moment before it can even get going.

Contrary to what so many players may say, Destiny is a terrific example of a well-crafted multi-genre game that has managed to outstrip the longevity of so many before it. If its Ghosts were mercifully mute, things could have been so much better.
