10 Annoying Video Game Mechanics That Need To Die
4. Invisible Walls
The fact that invisible walls still exist a very sad one indeed. Its very existence was a hardware limitation and was solely an excuse to restrict the player from going somewhere. In older games, it was far easier to place an invisible wall than texture it.
But in the day and age where the Xbox is the most powerful console ever and can supposedly fracture the divide between our universe and the next, why exactly do we still have invisible walls? Surely, this should be a thing of the past?
Hell, we should have ditched these back with the PS2. Just make a real wall? Or just slap a big ol' mountain in the way. They are notoriously good and stopping people from getting past. Maybe not Skyrim's horses, but we have to limit our scope to non-transdimensional demi-gods.
