10 Anticipated Video Games That Have Probably Been Cancelled
6. Below
Another 2013-debuted game that initially made many of us sit up and take notice, Below's "top down Dark Souls meets Diablo" setup was memorable, at least from an aesthetic POV.
Sadly, the years carried on Microsoft had an existential crisis as to what the Xbox One was, or even who it was for, and Below fell to the wayside. Developers Capybara issued a statement at the tail-end of 2016 assuring fans it was still in development, but this was after multiple delays and a spectacular lack of coverage.
Now we're about to round off yet another year, and the game is nowhere to be seen.
You have to imagine Microsoft have really been putting out the lifelines for games to show off, too. The Xbox One X launched with precisely zero system-sellers other than up-rezzed titles from years gone by, and as good as Cuphead is, it's not going to convince punters to drop half a grand.
Microsoft needed Below as of four years ago, and its continued failure to show up only makes any release seem more out of reach.
