The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, creator Shigeru Miyamoto had his staff working on a project called "Ura Zelda," which to this day has never been completed. The reason why it's never been completed, though? Eiji Aonuma, a designer who was leading the project at the time, complained to Miyamoto that he didn't like the idea for "Ura Zelda" and didn't want to work on it anymore. Miyamoto, being the risk-taker that he is, set Aonuma a challenge: if he could develop a sequel to
Ocarina of Time in just one year, then they would scrap "Ura Zelda" forever. It's safe to say that Aonuma successfully managed to meet this challenge. Still, it's strange to think that such a great game exists because an employer complained about his job and was dared by his boss to make a sequel as, like, a bet.
