10 Awesome Boss Battles (That Tragically Never Happened)

3. Tenpenny - Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

As far as actors go, there's none with a voice quite like Samuel L. Jackson. Although probably best known for his ongoing role as Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jackson also lent his voice to Frank Tenpenny in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. His trademark delivery was perfect for the abrasive cop who seemed to be antagonising Carl Johnson a little too much for our liking. And when his true villainy was finally exposed, it was a fact. We wanted blood. In the final mission, "End of the Line", CJ wages an all out war against another traitorous presence, former friend Melvin "Big Smoke" Harris. The fallout eventually lead to a face-off with Tenpenny. Unfortunately, we would not get to strike the blow that ends his sorry life. Instead, he perishes in an anti-climactic car accident that leaves the player feeling somewhat unfulfilled. It's a remarkable game, and one of the best-selling entries in the GTA franchise, but it's more than a little annoying that Tenpenny doesn't get a better comeuppance.
