10 Awesome Cancelled Video Games From Famous Franchises
5. Command & Conquer: Generals 2
Cha-Ching! With that solitary catchphrase, RTS gamers immediately get fond flashbacks to the 90s. The Red Alert games revolutionised the RTS genre back then, and the series continued to be solid up until Tiberium Wars in 2007.
Things then took a bit of a dip for the franchise, with several unsuccessful attempts to innovate the tried-and-tested formula. But when the simply-titled Command & Conquer (otherwise known as Command & Conquer: Generals 2) was announced in 2012, it promised to bring back the things that made the series great in the first place - reinstating base-building and unlimited populations, and offering bigger-than-ever armies to manage.
But it was not to be, as EA began flirting with turning it into a free-to-play game and player feedback to the multiplayer alpha was so negative that it ended up being cancelled.
