8. Maverick Hunter
Why We Want to Play It: Maverick Hunter was being developed by Armature, a studio created by the makers of Metroid Prime, as a Mega Man first person shooter which would stay true by the franchises signature gameplay. Putting one of gamings most storied platforming games into the hands of developers who previously took a legendary platforming game and turned into an FPS seems like a win-win. The studio was also planning a trilogy around the game.
Why We Never Will: Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune left Capcom in 2010. Since then weve seen the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3 and Mega Man Online. Maverick Hunter was just playing to the trend. Capcom says they are discussing a new Mega Man; but after the cancellation of these three games, who know when the Blue Blaster will see the light of day. Plus the majority of new Mega Man games have primarily been developed for the Nintendo DS and mobile devices. Thankfully we have Street Fighter X Mega Man to get our fix.
