10 Awesome Games With Terrible Voice Acting

7. Sonic Adventure

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=51cA2S-0qRs Sonic Adventure was a launch title for Sega's excellent if unfortunately doomed Dreamcast console, and marked Sega's first foray into 3D territory with the character, which was both hugely anticipated and mightily controversial. The game was met with a mixed critical reception, many praising Sega's effort to keep Sonic relevant during changing times, while also appreciating that the level design was not up to the high standards of the earlier games. Still, the area that is most egregious to many players, however, is the freaking obnoxious voice acting, which makes the game a challenge to play with the volume up. Sonic and Tails can be singled out especially for their juvenile, asinine dialogues throughout the game, which sound like a combination of two very young children and a group of Californian surfer dudes. The end result somewhat taints out image of Sonic, and honestly, we would have been perfectly fine if the characters didn't speak or just conveyed themselves through subtitles or actions. Dreadful.
