10 Awesome Games You Definitely Missed In 2024
1. Harold Halibut
After more than a decade in development, sci-fi walking sim Harold Halibut was finally released back in April.
With its endlessly charming stop-motion aesthetic, this is inarguably one of the most visually unique games of the year, or really any year.
But beyond that, this adventure set aboard a city-sized spaceship stranded at the bottom of an alien ocean is a delightful character-driven romp focused less on gameplay than the alluring personalities of its large ensemble cast.
Yes, you'll spend most of your time in-game walking around the ship and talking to its various denizens, but thanks to punchy dialogue and the game's overall gorgeous style, this is far from a chore.
Despite its wholly unique aesthetic, however, Harold Halibut has only barely cracked 500 reviews on Steam at the time of press, which suggests it hasn't sold well at all.
