10 Awesome Games You Definitely Missed In 2024
9. Neva
Nomada Studio's follow-up to their widely acclaimed indie platformer Gris is another mesmerising adventure game serving up a sumptuous, emotional feast for the senses.
Players control Alba, a young woman who travels with her wolf companion Neva to cleanse her world of dark corruption across the four seasons.
While Gris was an entirely death-free affair, Neva introduces both combat and perilous platforming, resulting in an altogether more intense experience.
All the same, even in its most fraught moments, there's nothing too challenging here, and far more often than not Neva is still a bewitchingly relaxing game, defined best by its beautiful watercolour-styled visuals, ethereal musical score, and affecting bond between its central characters.
And better yet, it'll only take up around four hours of your time.
Despite all this, Neva came and went in a blip back in October, barely sticking around in the discourse for more than a few days before vanishing - if most players even knew it was released at all.
