This scene is brilliant, allowing the player to get an understanding of the dynamic between the Lords and Mother Miranda in the couple minutes they are together, as well as establishing a lot of their personality. After spending an hour or two having no idea what is going on, it is here that Ethan is thrown into the main plot of the game and sees exactly what he is up against.

Combine this with the sudden influx of Lycans and Heisenberg’s ominous countdown – that of course leads you straight to an underground death maze – the family scene becomes one of the most intriguing and terrifying of the game.
