10 Awesome Original Properties To Shake Up Gaming

1. Watch Dogs

No game took us by surprise this year quite like Watch Dogs, when it was a shock announcement at E3, and managed to decisively steal the show way from Nintendo's Wii-U. Set in a speculative near-future, the game centres around a man called Aidan Pierce, who is able to hack into any electronic device, and given its proliferation in this Universe, that's a pretty damn handy tool to have. With a timely plot that decries how reliant we are on technology - and the potentially drastic turn it could take - Watch Dogs is sure to be not only the most exciting new title of 2013, but also the one that just might have us thinking about the way we live our lives. Though details are scarce, what impressed most was the visual quality of the title; it has clearly had a lot of money pumped into it, such that many even speculated that it was being developed as a next-generation title (but it's not). If the hype is to be believed, this will be an open-world like no other, giving players the ability to manipulate the very mechanics of this world with a few clicks of a button. Whether it can live up to the massive hype is another case entirely, but from what we've seen so far, we're definitely optimistic. What original IPs are you looking forward to in 2013?
