10 Awesome Rewards From Killing NPCs

In classic sandbox adventure game Terraria, the first NPC you encounter is The Guide, who spawns nearby and, true to his name, will acquaint you with all the gameplay basics.

Hilariously though, if you decide to kill the Guide just for the hell of it, you'll receive a four-minute buff of good luck, which increases the likelihood of tasty items drops, rare enemy encounters, the presence of specific NPCs, and better wares from the merchants. Basically, it makes life in Terraria that little bit sweeter.

Yet there's no denying it - it's an odd reward for your needlessly violent act, especially given that killing any other NPC in the game will net you negative luck for the same amount of time. 

Quite why murdering the most helpful NPC in the game results in such a neat - if fleeting - buff is anyone's guess.
