10 Awesome Sega Mega Drive Games You've Never Played

4. General Chaos

This action/strategy hybrid made a small impact on its release in 1994 but remains loved by an ardent fanbase. Taking control of the titular character€™s platoon, players were commanded to pinpoint their spot on the map, choose from a selection of alternatively classed grunts €“ pick from the gunner, chucker, blaster, or, a fan-favourite, the flame-throwing scorcher €“ and enter the arena of battle against Colonel Clink alike, General Havoc, and his own crimson-clad soldiers. Unless you opted for a crack combination of two soldiers, where you could manually move the players around the map at the detriment of being a smaller unit, the game was predominantly played tactically and required players to think fast, send their soldiers scurrying into the right spot to cause some damage and watch the carnage unfold. Naturally, it was and still is immensely satisfying when a battle plan comes together. A failed Kickstarter campaign back in 2013 brought General Chaos back onto fans' radars, albeit briefly, but as it stands this addictive game remains MIA from a popularity point of view.
