Bhaal is one of the most famous names in the Bauldr's Gare series. Known as the Lord of Murder, he is the dead deity is a part of the Dead Three alongside Myrkul and Bane. Being a big fan of all things murder, it's no surprise Bhaal has garnered a reputation for being one of the cruelest and bloodthirsty figures in the game's lore.

He's also hugely influential in setting the series' plot into motion, despite being entirely absent due to being long dead when players load up the game.

Across the Bhaalspawn Saga, Bhaal's spirit is shown to live on through Bhaal's mortal children, known as Bhaalspawn. In a fitting fashion, Bhaal's return to the world involves killing all of his children and releasing their spirits to bring him back to life.

A foreboding and sinister presence throughout the saga, players might catch a couple of glimpses of the deity across their playthroughs, but his threat remains firmly in the shadows. Despite much in the way of actual sightings, his lore is essential in helping to establish the game's tone, and keep all the macerations of the plot turning.
