10 Awesome Video Games Nobody Played

2. Jet Set Radio (Dreamcast) (2000)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBbf1v2Ctv4 Jet Set Radio/Jet Grind Radio: If you're familiar with either of these names, congratulations: You owned the greatest game on the short lived Dreamcast console. Entirely cell-shaded, Jet Set Radio set new standards for video game visuals. The color scheme was bright and vibrant, the animations smooth and fluid. The soundtrack was, at the time, regarded as the greatest musical score to ever grace a video game. JSR set benchmarks across the gaming spectrum €“ and no one played it. Taking on the role of a roller-blading graffiti artist, players skated around a stylized futuristic urban jungle, tagging their own artwork across the gray landscape. JSR challenged players to spray their carefully designed artwork via a rhythm mini-game that appeared whenever the player reached a tagging location. Spend too long painting your masterpiece and a squad of annoyed cops would soon show up. The tight reaction times and fast paced chases added a surprising level of intensity to the gameplay. Jet Set Radio was more than just a pretty game; tagging walls with your own artwork was an absolute blast and never became stale. A sequel, Jet Set Radio Future was released for the Xbox in 2003. While sporting a similar art style to its predecessor, the tagging mini-game had been completely removed. Players could now simply spray their design with the press of a button. Imagine a Gears of War game without a cover system: It just doesn't make sense to remove an integral part of the gameplay. Gamers looking to experience this gem can download the recently released HD Collection from both Playstation network and Xbox Live.
