10 Awesome Video Games You Can't Play Anymore
3. StarBlood Arena
StarBlood Arena was a terrific PlayStation VR-exclusive multiplayer shooter released in April 2017, and delivered one of the most robust multiplayer experiences on Sony's ground-breaking platform.
Up to eight players could take part in co-operative and competitive flight-based space-shooting, and as an introduction to the enhanced sense of verticality and excitement which VR can enable, it was a thrilling, arguably underrated addition to PSVR's lineup.
Yet player retention is always a huge issue with multiplayer VR games, and StarBlood Arena was no exception. The community dwindled in the months that followed, and in July 2019, the multiplayer servers were shut down for good.
Furthermore, because StarBlood Arena had an always-online requirement, players couldn't even play the single-player offering - a threadbare exhibition mode against bots - once the servers closed.
Even accepting the highly niche nature of most VR games, StarBlood Arena absolutely deserved a better fate than being fully confined to the trashcan of time.
