6. Toonstruck (PC) - Half A Gem
We all miss the classic point and click adventures. The Monkey Island trilogy, Day of the Tentacle...pretty much anything made by LucasArts from the late 80s to mid 90s. Who among you, dear readers, have not spent countless hours on the Internet attempting to find games in the same style, coming up somewhat short time and time again? Enter Toonstruck. The game featured a live action Christopher Lloyd as the main character on gorgeous hand drawn backgrounds, as well as some really fun humour and puzzle solving. Here's the snag. The game sets up a sequel. A sequel stillborn by awful changes. It was the other half of the game. Due to the game's length and presumably in an effort to increase revenue, it was decided to split it in two. Trouble is that Toonstruck sold terribly, so a sequel was never financially viable. Frustratingly un-awesome. One of the developers, Keith Arem, is tentatively planning a re-release of Toonstruck with the other half finally being included - if funding is there. Here's hoping they find it and the game turns out to be every bit as awesome as it could have been.
