10 Awkward Video Game Moments That Made You Feel Like A Total Creep
6. Seeing If Raiden Would Let It All Hang Loose In Metal Gear Solid 2
In its attempt to ape everything that happened in the previous game, Metal Gear Solid 2 directly copies older set-pieces from the franchise in order to execute them in a bigger and more bombastic way.
So this time around when main character Raiden is captured and tortured by the title's villain, the developers didn't settle for taking his shirt off like they did to Solid Snake in the first game, opting instead to strip the character butt-naked to properly convey his vulnerability.
During this portion of the game you're forced to play as a completely naked Raiden as he sneaks his way through Arsenal Gear, always tactically keeping one hand lowered in order to retain the last modicum of dignity he has left.
But you'd be lying if you said you didn't try to get Raiden in a position where you could see if the developers had actually endowed the character with a set of virtual crown jewels.
Yeah, you felt a little undignified after, but you couldn't go through the level without knowing whether some poor artist drew the short straw and had to render an anatomically correct version of MGS 2's hero.
Spoilers: They didn't.
