10 Bad Video Game Endings That Are Harder To Get Than Good Ones
5. Elisabeth Dies - Vampyr
Vampyr is a 2018 action RPG about an undead doctor with a penchant for sucking blood out of his patients. Guess he doesn't need to invest in any leeches, eh?
The game comes with four distinct endings that are determined by how Dr. Jonathan Reid interacts with the citizens of Whitechapel. In the best ending, Jonathan flees to America with his main squeeze Elisabeth after he convinces her that his curse hasn't turned him into a monster.
In the worst ending, his love commits suicide, and Jonathan's monstrous nature means he doesn't appear to care.
Now, as you may expect, the two endings are determined by how many people Johnathan kills throughout the game. However, contrary to most people's intuition, killing mortals as a creature of the night is actually more difficult than letting them live.
To get the good ending, you basically have to do nothing but a couple of good deeds and then ignore most opportunities to feed.
On the other end, killing an entire population takes skill and careful planning, as you have to be methodical with each kill and not let anyone catch you.
It's a hard life being an undead, unfeeling monster...
