10 Beloved First-Person Shooter Video Games That Need Rebooting
1. Call Of Duty
Somewhere between the hordes of zombies and outer space action, Call of Duty is a far cry from what it originally stood for, so let’s hit the reboot switch and take it back to its military roots.
Virtually every major conflict of the modern age has been covered by one shooter series or another and marching CoD into First World War territory would be contrived since Battlefield planted its flag there first.
CoD developer Sledgehammer Games really needs to think outside of the box with this one and look further back through the history books.
There were rumours of an instalment set in Ancient Rome a few years back. How incredible would that be? Granted, it would be more of a first-person sword-em-up than a shooter, but to quote Russell Crowe in Gladiator, would you not be entertained?
The American Civil is also ripe for pillaging. Call of Duty: Civil Warfare? Why not? And how about the Napoleonic Wars? The list is pretty much endless.
