10 Beloved Video Game Franchises Overdue A Comeback
6. Fable
Despite the fact that all three Fable games failed to deliver a lot of the promises, the franchise offered a great deal of charm and therefore gained quite the following.
This is why, when Lionhead Studios were closed, many were devastated as it signified the series they'd brought to life would likely be going down too.
However, while the original devs may not be able to create a fourth mainline entry, Microsoft recently acquired a studio that would make one hell of a Fable game - one that would take it in a new direction and likely bring a lot more attention as a result.
That studio being, Obsidian Entertainment.
Think about it: The original creators of Fallout and the makers of arguably the best game in that franchise, New Vegas, would bring a whole lot of RPG brilliance to Fable. Sure, the series may not be known to be as open-ended as the post-apocalyptic games overall, but the side-activities in past entries offered a lot of choice - something Obsidian could expand upon, going into their next masterpiece.
