Despite only creating a handful of games, Silicon Knights managed to make a huge mark on gaming culture during their short existence. Introducing gamers to the world of Blood Omen with Legacy of Kain, the studio followed up that release with the innovative survival horror title Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem.

Gaining a reputation as being a solid and reliable developer, Silicon Knights amassed enough resources to begin work on a passion project that they thought would be their big break, Too Human.

A dungeon crawler RPG, the game languished in development hell for years, costing the developers time and money they didn't have. Needing to be a smash hit to keep things healthy at the studio, the title sadly received a kicking when it finally released in 2008, faring even worse in the charts.

With their resources depleted, Silicon Knights final release was a poor X-Men action-RPG in 2011. A sad, by-the-numbers licensed game, the title didn't do the developers any favours, and the company declared bankruptcy three years later, with the final straw being the loss of a court case against Epic Games.
