10 Best Bloodborne Bosses

2. Orphan of Kos

Prepare to die. A lot.

The Orphan of Kos has gone down in history as one of (if not the) hardest boss in the Souls franchise. Fighting this infant Great One on the shores of Fishing Hamlet will take the player multiple attempts, but the difficulty is understandable when you consider this is a child of a god trapped inside a nightmare realm.

Wielding his mother’s placenta, this epitome of rage comes leaping, running and flying towards the player with such speed and focus that it would be pretty easy to just ‘nope’ out of there and never return. But this is Bloodborne, and the marathon of trading blows with this malformed child becomes a work of art.

The Orphan has no particular weakness, so this is a battle of pure grit and determination. In its second phase prepare for the aggression to be amped up to 11. The Orphan bounds around the map so randomly and quickly with his new wings that once the player has locked onto him it's already too late. There are so many different attack options for this creature and often he uses multiple simultaneously. The fight is a struggle, but it is an eerily beautiful climax to the Old Hunter’s DLC.

Defeating The Orphan of Kos and putting an end to the Hunter’s Nightmare cannot be topped; it is truly a time for rejoicing.
