10 Best Dark Souls Bosses - Ranked

8. Burnt Ivory King (DS2)

This boss fight is just awesome, and this time it’s not because of the difficulty, but rather the sheer scale of the fight.

Provided that you release all four of the Eleum Loyce knights and go in with two summons, that’s seven of you going into this boss fight together. The Burnt Ivory King himself has allies of his own, so rather than just being a boss fight, this turns into an epic battle.

The entrance of the Burnt Ivory King is, quite literally, scorching, as he walks through a giant gate whilst on fire, looking like he’s ready to throw it down onto his invaders.

It’s a truly cinematic experience, one that stays with you for far longer than many other boss fights do. It’s an assembling of Avengers in Dark Souls form.

Fighting this boss is just an incredible experience, and one that isn’t overly difficult either – which lets you enjoy the spectacle of it all the more.
