2. Slave Knight Gael (DS3)

Gael tricks you at first. His first phase is pretty simple, which lulls you into a false sense of security. Unfortunately, he then turns fully Hollow and enters two more phases, in which you normally get absolutely served.

He’s powerful, relentless and fast, with an ability to teleport close to you if you try to find some space for yourself. This is a man on a mission, quite literally, and he will stop at nothing to defeat you.

There are also random lightning strikes during phase three which can damage either one of you. This can either make you very lucky, or very unlucky. It certainly gives you another aspect to worry about.

This is a fight at the end of the world, against a man who was amongst the first to be branded with the Darksign. He has made it to the end and lost almost everything along the way, but only now does he lose what he had left – his sanity.

This gives the fight a tinge of emotion. It’s not nearly as bad as Sif, but the lore that comes with this fight makes it fascinating.

In many ways, it’s the end, the final fight as the world finally ends – making it all the more important for you to retrieve the Blood of the Dark Soul and allow the painter to create their way out.
