10 Best DLC Of 2013

9. Assassin's Creed III: The Tyranny of King Washington (I-III)

The first episode of the Tyranny of King Washington was released in 2012, but the second and third, The Betrayal and The Redemption, were released in February and April of 2013 respectively. So for completion sake, we'll just go ahead and consider it in this years list. Assassin's Creed 3 was as polarizing as they come, some loved it, some were underwhelmed. I was in the underwhelmed category, I couldn't find my feet with the Connor character, he lacked the depth and likeability of Ezio and the story didn't grab me in the way the previous games did. Plus, as an Englishman, I'm just not comfortable throwing tea into the Boston Harbour. Not our tea! But I did like the American setting and had fun exploring and killing the wildlife. Cruel, I know, but what you going to do? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uaXyXBbBZs The Tyranny of King Washington put a new spin on the game and, I felt, was more enjoyable than the main story. Set in an alternate reality, George Washington has taken the Apple of Eden and is corrupted by its power, making himself king and enslaving Connor's people. Connor is given new abilities, more centred around magic, creating a new and interesting kind of combat. Turning Washington into the villain was quite a bold move. The story is quite daft, but that's a good thing after a rather serious main story, and it presents a unique possibility for future Assassin's Creed games, especially with the use of the new powers.
