4. Watch Dogs: Legion
Watch Dogs: Legion just barely qualifies as a new game, in that the leak of it had been out for ages, and held so many details that it seemed like Ubisoft confirming it was just a formality.
However, we were all so sure Fable 4 and The Evil Within 3 were absolute nailed on certainties, and they were nowhere to be seen. Officially, the third Watch Dogs instalment is a new game, and it’s a pretty major IP for Ubisoft, so it simply had to be included here.
As was much rumoured, the game is set in sunny old England, taking place in a dystopian version of London. In Ubisoft’s own words, ‘London has fallen into a technological nightmare', with the player character serving as part of the resistance.
As for the player character themselves, Ubisoft have suggested you can ‘play as literally any character’, giving examples of taxi drivers, spies, lawyers, boxers and even stark-raving mad grandmas.
Whether you can literally literally be them, or just rally them to your cause/exploit their technology to shape their decisions, remains to be seen.
