10 Best Gaming Soundtracks Of 2012
3. Halo 4
For the biggest release of the year, did you expect anything less?
So, Halo 4. The biggest series in gaming returns with a new studio, a new story, and a new score. The game revolves around Chief's relationship with his best friend, more than his duty to save the world like he does every outing. The soundtrack shows this by using gentle themes more than the blockbuster action pieces present in the game. It adds a new layer of character into the series when we used to take it for granted - focusing on the nothing but aiming and firing.
But don't get me wrong, the action pieces of the track are still impressive; even after twelve years. The piece 'The Belly of the Beast' show the amount of intensity and fire that we have come to know with the series. In a lot of ways, it shows the franchise that we have came to know in the way we remember it. But in other ways, it does for MC what Skyfall did to Bond. It shows a much more personal side of himself in this chapter more than any other. The score takes pride in this, and that's why it's number three.
