Could it be any other Pokémon?

Besides just being awesome in it's own right, Pikachu is even more iconic than the whole of the Pokémon franchise. Appearing in each instalment of the anime, featuring in several spin-off games and even having clothing brands featuring him, Pikachu has an undeniable pop culture influence.

This would be completely ignoring how great Pikachu is as an actual Pokémon in game. With a wide variety of moves and one of the best types in the game, Pikachu is an asset to have during battle. Although his evolution, Raichu, is pretty great too, he just isn't as impactful as the original.

Despite having plenty of amazing Pokémon come out since the first generation, the most famous one is, and probably always will be, Pikachu. That says it all really.
