Although he may not be the best Pokémon from the first generation, there is one thing without question- Mewtwo is the coolest.

The mystery that surrounds Mewtwo is easily one of his best features. His mysterious and tragic origin, as well as his ability to speak English telepathically, is unique to just him and definitely makes him stand out. The fact that Mewtwo is featured in the first ever Pokémon movie should really convey how beloved he is.

Besides being the only Pokémon with human characteristics, Mewtwo is also the most powerful Pokémon in the whole of the first game. All of his stats are incredibly high and he has arguably the best set of moves too, which is to be expected of an endgame challenge.

Catching and making Mewtwo yours is a feeling that hasn't been matched in any other Pokémon title. Even as he becomes less rare, Mewtwo is still one of the best out there.
