10 Best Horror Games You've Probably Never Played

3. Scratches - PC

ScratchesChapel This is a good old fashioned haunted house story with a top notch story and atmosphere. Also, it€™s easy to run, it€™s not very big and it€™s very cheap. The game was the first argentinian game to ever get a retail release and you can see why, it€™s one of the best adventure games of the last decade and it literally came out of nowhere. You play as a writer that moves into an abandoned house in order to get inspiration for his next novel. Until strange stuff starts happening and it all becomes a fantastic story of death, despair and probable hauntings. It€™s paced fairly well and the puzzles aren€™t particularly difficult. The game works around pre-rendered spheres which aren€™t very interactive but the sound design is top notch and if you don€™t get scared during the second night then you probably are a zombie. You can easily get it on Steam or GOG for less than 10 bucks and while it€™s a bit short there€™s a lot of value in this game. It€™s also worth mentioning that the developer is working on Asylum, another horror game that just got Kickstarted and Greenlit in Steam Greenlight.
