3. Rogue Legacy
Part platformer part roguelike, Rogue Legacy fuses the best of its influences, requiring you to tightly run and leap through deadly procedurally-generated dungeons that are crawling with gold.
The game sees you fight to survive through a plethora of these randomised dungeons, swinging your swords to fend off the attack of floating eyeballs, walking skeletons and other deadly foes around every corner. Upon your inevitable demise, any items you have obtained will be passed onto one of three knights within your bloodline, and the chaos is set to unfold again.
Each one of your descendants has their own unique perks that work to keep gameplay fresh, but can also prove to be pretty annoying. Some knights might be granted with the perk to run faster or jump higher, whilst others may be hindered with traits such as colour-blindness or, erm, 'chronic flatulence'. Nothing says "I'm about to storm this castle!" like riding in on a cloud of trouser gas.
Rogue Legacys randomised system is beautifully executed, making each playthrough feel like youre embarking on a new adventure.
