10 Best LEGO Video Games - Ranked
8. LEGO Pirates Of The Caribbean
It was at this point that the Lego games became a bit weary of taking off again. Whilst still an excellent game and a lot of fun to play, and the sword fighting being exceptionally fun, yet simplistic, the game was lacking the charm and overall polish that the rest of the titles in the series had.
There was a distinct lack of characters with most of them being scraped from the bottom of the barrel and not really differentiating themselves from each other. Admittedly, Pirates had a unique compass mechanic that required you to use a little bit of sleuthing, but apart from that it was the standard Lego formula, which was growing slightly tiresome. The game feels a little haphazard too, as if it was made to simply cash in on the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
No one really asked for a Lego Pirates game, and that is really what lands it here. While everyone wants to play through Harry Potter and Star Wars, Pirates never inspired that devotion. Except for the Maelstrom level. That was insane.
