10 Best Low-Level Monsters In Dungeons & Dragons
1. Myconids
Do you want something totally different for your new campaign? You’re tired of bandits, you’ve done the goblin ambush and even the Kobold trap cave. Well then, I got something totally way out for you, killer fungus.
No, not just poisonous spores, although that is a good addition. I mean walking fighting mushrooms or Myconids as they are called.
Traditionally Myconids live in the Underdark, a vast labyrinthian area under the ground that is home to a great number of strange creatures. In your campaign however, they could also be found in a swamp or cave. Traditional quite a peaceful race, they will fight to protect their homes and families.
As mentioned before, you can mix in monsters such as Violet fungus to add extra creatures to these encounters and even create traps that consist of toxic mushrooms.
These encounters with Myconids will be different from anything your players have seen before and open up your game to a totally different setting. Swamps and caves can be home to a great number of other creatures that you can build into your game as it progresses.
