Firewatch is the first on this list of an ever-growing library of indie titles for the Mac. It is the creation of the tiny studio that is Campo Santo. This title falls into the same category of ‘short but sweet’ indie games such as Gone Home, Dear Esther and The Stanley Parable. The game draws you in, tells a story and does not waste your time.

Set in the 1980’s, this story-driven first-person adventure lets you explore a stylised Yellowstone National Park. The gameplay is predominately based around exploration and discovery, and the story is driving through dialogue using your trusty walkie-talkie. With perhaps the best voice acting seen in a video game to date, the story told is an intriguing mystery that winds its way through the hills and valleys of Wyoming.

It is difficult to discuss Firewatch due to the fact that it is a story-driven adventure. However, it is not revealing much to note that the script is already being made into a movie, which is a testament to how good the writing is. This is well worth a play if you have a spare four hours or so.
