10 Best Modern Video Game Soundtracks
9. Detroit: Become Human (Philip Sheppard, Nima Fakhrara, John Paesano)
David Cage's games have always divided audiences. Some loved the cinematic experiences, while others didn't want to have the image of an uncanny valley rendered Willem Dafoe stuck in their nightmares. When Detroit released it could count on generally positive reviews from both audiences and critics, in no small part helped by the strong soundtrack.
For Detroit, Cage attracted three composers, one for each of the characters the player controls. Each of these themes adapts throughout your playthrough, signifying what your character goes through. While Markus' soundtrack is one of resistance and fighting for your existence, Kara's is more intimate, and Connor's is about discovering who he is and where his loyalty lies.
Couple these soundtracks with the emotional choices you have to make and it's guaranteed to give you some feels.
