Born in Edenia, Sindel was a queen to her people, devoted mother to Kitana, and loving wife to King Jerrod. After Shao Kahn seized her kingdom, Sindel was left so heartbroken, she took her own life. However, Quan Chi used his necromancy to revive Sindel, turning her into Kahn's slave.

Or so we believed. For decades, it was assumed Sindel wasn't responsible for her despicable actions since she was Kahn's puppet.

But in Mortal Kombat 11, it was revealed that Sindel had ALWAYS been in cahoots with Kahn and had played the role of "the pawn" to manipulate both sides to her advantage. This revelation adds another dimension to the character as it shows how conniving Sindel is and how she is willing to play the long game to get what she desires. Watching her play her own daughter like a fiddle as she prepares to wipe out her loved ones makes you realise how truly deplorable she is. In some sequences in MK11, she seems to perform the impossible and come across as MORE evil than her insidious husband.
