3. Dead Rising 3

As if murdering thousands and thousands of zombies by yourself wasn't fun enough, why not throw a friend into the mix?

Playing through the campaign as Nick Ramos, a friend can join your playthrough and become Dick (yep, that's right) and help you.

Dead Rising 2 introduced weapon customisation, and this was carried over and built upon for Dead Rising 3. Not only are there sixty-four combo weapons and thirty-seven super combo weapons, Capcom had the ingenious idea to add in combo vehicles.

Want to combine a forklift and a fireworks van to create a vehicle that can impale your undead enemies before firing them up into the sky to explode in a jettison of brightly-coloured chunks? Go for it! There's even a second turret for your partner to operate.

All of the infamous psychopaths can also be tackled in co-op, although you may want to ramp the difficulty up for these encounters. You don't want the game to be a total walk in the park.

With the biggest hordes, grittiest world and most unique gameplay in the series (in that it branches away from the brightly coloured goofiness of 1, 2 and 4), Dead Rising 3 is sure to provide you and your friend all the fun you could want.

Lover of all things zombie. Secretly wishing for the apocalypse, but only on easy difficulty. Top of the world leaderboards for a couple of songs on Pro Drums on Rock Band 4. Can name every world flag. Currently doing my MA in Creative Writing in an attempt to do something with my life.
