4. The Forest
The Forest starts out like any run-of-the-mill survival game as you find yourself stranded on an island following a plane crash and must now survive on whatever you can get your hands on. However, things start to get very weird before long as you will need to face off against some creepy creatures as what seems like a simple Bear Grylls simulator descends into survival horror territory.
Besides mutated thingymajigs the island is also populated with tribes of cannibals that follow and observe you before returning later with all of their lovely cannibal friends in tow. Developers Endnight Games have created some incredible artificial intelligence to control the behavior of the cannibals that inhabit the island, even factoring in some unpredictability to their behavior to keep things interesting.
All in all, The Forest introduces unpredictable AI behavior into the survival elements to keep things interesting and instill an even greater sense of urgency and fear into the experience. Sequel Sons of the Forest is set to release in October 2022 and promises to be even weirder than the original.
