Like Fire Pro Wrestling Returns, but better. This is the pinnacle of pro wrestling gaming, especially in a non-WWE world, at least until AEW get their buns in gear and get that game finished. Released at the end of 2017, this was more realistic than predecessors and featured updated rosters, helped no end by agreements with NJPW and Stardom.

That meant that gamers could get the most realistic versions of Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada and all the rest while retaining the construction elements of previous Fire Pro Wrestling games. It was essentially allowing you to build your own promotion with the building blocks of NJPW and Stardom already in place.

Previous Fire Pro Wrestling games were a wet dream for hardcore wrestling fans, but this was something else entirely. Professional wrestling has slipped out of the mainstream and into the niche world, with a new generation of fans getting into the sport alongside a deep-seated love of gaming and the culture that comes with it. No game understands and executes this combination better than Fire Pro Wrestling World.

AEW, the ball is in your court.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
