10 Best Open-World Games Of The 2010s (That AREN'T GTA)

9. Spider-Man PS4

The web-slinger is no stranger to open world game releases, most notably before 2018 with the Spider-Man 2 movie tie-in which was shockingly good. Naturally, an update was needed over a decade later which came in the form of Spider-Man PS4.

The game really needs no more discussion over its quality: whether it's in the web-swinging, characters, story, combat - it's all brilliant, that much is clear. The city, however, is also worthy of attention in that it feels like a comic-book city brought to the screen.

That could sound like a bad thing, but Spidey's swingy antics across the gorgeously realised New York skyline just never gets old and the small in-universe nods to other Marvel characters elevates the comics-inspired world to new heights. Insomniac definitely knew how good their game was. That's evident in the amount of costumes alone.
