10 Best Open World Games Of The Past 10 Years

10. Dark Souls

Quite possibly one of the hardest games to be released in the last 10 years is Dark Souls. It was designed for hardcore gamers who love to be challenged at every turn and take a more precise approach rather than a hack-and-slash attack style, but it can also be one of the most frustrating things to ever enter your life. The game also features an ambiguous storyline that the player has to figure out through clues, which makes paying attention to every little thing said by NPCs very important to your progress. Once you have some decent weapons and powers, you can play through the game without much of an issue, but until you have yourself built up, you will die over and over and over again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmLaLqYauTA The game is set in the medieval era, with magic and sorcery playing a huge role in the story. Enemies range from skeleton soldiers to ghosts to giant creatures that will kill you in two hits. The scenery goes from beautiful landscapes to dark dungeons with all of it having a demonic feel. Players can kill enemies with a wide variety of weapons and spells while also joining different guilds to gain benefits for your customized hero. The world in Dark Souls is beautifully designed with loving detail, but it also has some of the most haunting imagery in any game of its kind. If you are a patient person, then you will love these games. If you like to rip through a game without much trouble, save yourself some time and try Fable instead.
