10 Best Open-World Video Games
5. Final Fantasy XV
We often speak of high fantasy; elves and dwarves romping around enchanted forests, but we don’t often discuss low fantasy. It’s the same basic idea, you’ve got magical spells and creatures but the rest of the world is far more down to earth.
Final Fantasy XV brings a world full of giant creatures and vicious monsters, but places them all in a world not unlike our own. The actual world in FFXV is gorgeous and the game knows it. You’ll be spending plenty of time in between high stakes missions simply driving around the map and taking in the sights, stopping off for a quick bit of photography now and then.
Nothing feels slapdash in its construction and everything you can explore feels as if it was put there for a reason. Many of the missions promote traveling around the wide variety of locales and simply stopping to smell the roses. It's a shame that there aren't more games like this.
