10 Best Original Characters From Star Wars Video Games
5. Darth Nihilus
Before Kreia retakes her place as Darth Traya and becomes the final antagonist in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II, Darth Nihilus held the position of big boss pretty damn well. Hidden behind a creepy mask like so many great Sith before him, Darth Nihilus haunts the majority of his game with an aura of fear and mystery.
But while many of his attributes and feats draw pretty close inspiration from the likes of Vader, his backstory is quite fascinating and his work as Sith Lord comes close to eclipsing Vader's. Having been so dreadfully injured by the Mass Shadow Generator, Nihilus comes to crave Force energy and feeds on it to sustain himself. He and his apprentice Darth Sion purged Jedi across the galaxy to satiate this, leading him to be known as the Lord of Hunger.
Darth Nihilus' motivations are quite desperate, but the Sith Lord retains a cruel composure that makes him supremely dangerous. When players finally face off against him in KOTOR II, the encounter is pervaded by a chilling and palpable tension throughout.
