10 Best PlayStation 1 Multiplayer Games
2. Micro Maniacs
Codemasters took their tried and tested formula from Micro Machines and put a unique spin on it: What if the racers were people (kinda) instead of vehicles?
What we got was a game that includes some of the best character design on PS1, with levels that feel familiar yet totally fresh.
Each character has their own unique abilities, which makes players want to try every single one, just to see how they feel. You can be absolutely woeful with one runner and then a instant pro with the next, encouraging you to try the full roster.
While the single player mode is a fair bit of fun, this game really comes into its own when you connect the multitap.
Outrageously chaotic, unbelievably fast and so much fun, to this day Micro Maniacs a very shiny hidden gem.
