There isn't a racing series out there quite like Gran Turismo. With game modes that can have you racing for hours at a time (literally), it's certainly the most realistic racing sim out there.

This attention to detail is exactly what makes Gran Turismo so special. Everything from the individual detail of each car, to having to wash and clean your vehicles is exactly what makes Gran Turismo feel unlike anything else.

The Forza Motorsport has been trying (and being quite successful actually) to give Gran Turismo a run for it's money when it comes to exclusive racing franchises, but the level of care and attention that goes into each release is unmatched by pretty much any game on the market. Even Gran Turismo Sport had been in development for several years before releasing, despite not even being a numbered entry.

For many people, Gran Turismo is one of the reason to choose PlayStation over Xbox. It may not be the most fun franchise on PlayStation, but it's certainly one of the console's most special.
